Jonathan joined Deep Gap Fire in 2013 as a junior firefighter. In 2017, Jonathan became a senior firefighter. He was elected as a Lieutenant in 2021, and in 2025 was promoted to the rank of Captain.

Jonathan is certified through the State of North Carolina as a Firefighter 1 & 2, Wildland Firefighter, EMT-Basic, Fire Officer 1, and has also obtained numerous Incident Command certifications.. He also holds an Associates degree in Emergency Management. Jonathan has a background in 9-1-1 dispatch/communications and is part of our part-time staffing team.
