Deep Gap Volunteer Fire Department provides fire protection and medical first response to Deep Gap, Rutherwood, Stoney Fork, and Cranberry Springs in Watauga & Ashe Counties in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Formed in 1964 as one of the first rural fire departments in Watauga County, DGFD responds to 300+ calls annually.

Senior Members must be 18 years of age, have a valid drivers license and high school diploma.

Junior Firefighters can be between 14-18 years of age and enrolled in school.
