Busy 2025 for DGFD!
2025 is proving to be another busy year for Deep Gap Fire! Our staff and volunteers have responded to 300+ incidents as of July 1st. This includes Fire, Rescue & EMS emergencies within our district, along with covering multiple community events and out-of-county mutual aid request. We’ve also had 4 members enrolled in EMT school and 2 members almost complete with their Firefighter 1 & 2 certification. We’re very happy to announce that we’ve replacement the floor in our upstairs training room, deployed a KnoxBox program, and also looking at replacing aging apparatus in our fleet.
In our July Community Meeting, Victor Hamby was appointed by our Board of Directors to serve as our Fire Chief. Former Chief Seth Norris will remain on the department as a Firefighter/EMT!
