DGFD Responds to Hurricane Helene!
Deep Gap Fire has been very busy responding to sinking vehicles, trees down, medical emergencies, welfare checks, roadway hazards, and assisting our neighbors. We also had a working house fire during the midst of the storm. While our district wasn’t hit the hardest compared to our surrounding communities, we still have seen the effects of Hurricane Helene. Our department was able to obtain and set up a StarLink wifi service in the Stony Fork community. We can’t thank our community enough for the overwhelming amount of support and donations!

Deep Gap FD personnel along with members from the NC Marine Patrol: Swift Water Rescue Team. The Marine Patrol along with units from the National Guard were housed at our station and assisted in response not only in our community, but also around the state!
Our station has also been used as an emergency landing zone to assist during the response and recovery of Helene!
