
DGFD responds into Wilkes County to assist with fire!
On November 9th around the noon hour, Deep Gap Fire Department was dispatched to assist Champion Fire Rescue in Wilkes County with a structure fire that had spread into the woods on Mt. Zion Road. Deep Gap Brush 2308, Tanker 2305, and 4 personnel responded. While on scene, Deep Gap assisted with building containment lines as well as nursing with another Mutual Aid’s tanker. Deep Gap remained on scene for 5 hours before the fire was under control and all resources were able to return. Champion Fire Rescue was the primary agency while Deep Gap Fire, Millers Creek Fire Department, Ferguson Vol. Fire Department, and the North Carolina Forest Service were all on scene.
