Meet Lieutenant James ‘Jim’ Ninnis

Jim joined the Deep Gap Fire team in 2024 along with his daughter, Megan. Lt. Ninnis holds many Fire, Rescue and Incident Command certifications along with being an EMT. Before moving to Western NC, Jim worked for the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. He also is a member of the Watauga County Rescue Squad. in May of 2025, Jim was elected to the rank of Lieutenant at DGFD. He is a valuable asset to our department and community!
