Your fire department training on Search and Rescue (SAR) techniques this evening! Although we’re a “Fire Department,” Deep Gap Fire responds to many types of emergencies, including missing persons, lost/injured hikers, medical calls in wooded areas that require carrying the patient out of the woods, as well as assisting our neighboring agencies.

We would like to remind our community members and visitors to always pack supplies and know your route while hiking Deep Gap’s beautiful trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding area.
