Deep Gap Fire Department prepares for upcoming NCRRS inspection!
The North Carolina Response Rating System (NCRRS) is a division of the Department of Insurance (DOI). Administered and maintained by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM), the NCRRS routinely inspects more than 1,300 North Carolina fire departments. It rates them based on their resources, abilities and response to fire prevention and extinguishment of structural fires against a uniform set of criteria which incorporate nationally-recognized fire protection standards.
Currently, Deep Gap Fire Department is holding a Class 6 rating (class 1 being the highest, 1-10) which is one of lowest in the county. We hope to lower this rating in the near future! Many station 23 personnel have been busy conducting inspections, inventory, maintenance and much more for our upcoming inspection on April 12th!

Pictures are from a recent water-haul training with our automatic aid departments in preparation for our upcoming rating day!
