What Kind of Training is Required to Become a Driver?
Your Deep Gap Firefighters training on this beautiful Thursday!
FF Ayscue is training to become a Driver/Operator. During his training period, he will be required to spend 40 hours driving and training with an instructor before he will be “checked off” to drive any apparatus to an emergency scene.
This ensures that all members driving apparatus are familiar with safely driving our trucks and have the knowledge and experience to pump our apparatus at the fire scene.
Are you interested in driving a fire truck? Deep Gap Fire Department is always looking for individuals to become Driver/Operators. You do not need to fight fire to become one of our Driver/Operators. We will specifically train you the ins and outs of driving and pumping apparatus! As always, the training is completely free!
